Lukie Wyniger / Skyscraper Stereo

DJ – Producer – Curator
📍 Muttenz, Switzerland | www.skyscraperstereo.com

Music has always been my greatest passion – right alongside football.
I started playing classical guitar at age six at the music school in Muttenz. By twelve, I switched to electric guitar – and by fifteen, I had traded the strings for turntables. That’s when the journey as a DJ began.

My first gigs were at local hip-hop parties in Basel’s Sommercasino, followed by residencies and appearances at iconic venues like Kuppel, Kaserne, and later clubs in Zürich, Berlin, London and Kingston, Jamaica.

At 21, DJing led me to youth radio station Radio 105, where I hosted the weekly 105 Dopehip-hop show and soon became head of music. From there, I moved into the music industry with Warner Musicand later became a host and music curator at Swiss national radio SRF 3, where I led shows such as the Reggae Specialfor over 15 years.

All along, I stayed active as a DJ – playing thousands of tracks, from underground venues to big stages like Openair Frauenfeld, YAAM Berlin (w/ David Rodigan)or Weddy Weddyin Kingston. Gradually, I shifted more into production, working behind the scenes on numerous Swiss releases – collaborating with The Scrucialists, Phenomden, Stereo Luchs, Griot, and KitschKrieg.

The launch of my own project Skyscraper Stereo was a natural evolution.

Today, I focus on producing original music – most recently the singles “Money Weather”(w/ Pronto & Quenga) and “Love Reload”(w/ Stereo Luchs, Trettmann & special guest). Rooted in soundsystem culture, reggae and hip-hop, my music is made for the present moment – and a good portion of it is produced and recorded in Kingston, Jamaica.
